Since Portree lifeboat station was founded in March 1991, crews have launched 612 times and saved 16 lives. Today, we mark the 200th anniversary of the RNLI. The RNLI have been dedicated to saving lives at sea for 200 years. 👇 #RNLI200

This week our 1860s RNLI boathouse is lit up celebrating 200 years of lifesaving. The RNLI has saved over 144,000 lives in that time. We're proud to have played a small part of that here in North Berwick, and look forward to the next 200 years! #RNLI200

Stromness celebrated #RNLI200 today with a mass parade of pipe bands from #Orkney , the north of Scotland, and even Canada 🍁

They were joined by local RNLI volunteers from across the islands.

A special day for a special organisation that's close to the heart of Orcadians ❤️

To celebrate the RNLI’s 200th birthday the Newton Bell Ringers of St. John the Baptist Church rang a quarter peal of the bells yesterday afternoon.
