I found this little shieldbug around the res at Ingbirchworth this afternoon - it was feeding on white dead nettle & think it is a Pied Shieldbug - Tritomegas bicolor. I don't remember ever seeing one before - Barnsley Nats Barnsleybiodiversity Tristan Bantock

If you think the common Dandelion is only useful as a nectar source when flowering, think again!
Many different birds eat its seeds & the seed-head itself is often an arena for .. love & intrigue maybe?
Red & Black Rhopalid pair mating & a Hairy Shieldbug in a Dandelion in Hove.

Nice colour variation in this group of Tortoise Shieldbug (Eurygaster testudinaria) in Gunpowder Park, Sewardstone, Essex yesterday. Also a 16-spot Ladybird wandered into shot.

Excited to have found my first Spiked Shieldbug (Picromerus bidens) in wet meadow area Lagan Meadows today. Borrows the colour palette from the Forest Bug/Red-legged Shieldbug (Pentatoma rufipes) but those thorn-like shoulders characteristic.
