Some wonderful books at the Palais de Beaux Arts, including this sculpted version! All I did when looking at sculptures with engraving was try and discern the script type (David Rundle's palaeography sessions have been paying off!)

Anyone who has read anything on basic palaeography or done a basic collation of NT papyri & uncial codices will instantly recognize that this video is for the gullible & ignorant.

I'm sorry for any Christian who this emboldens, fast track to apostasy inshaʾAllāh.

Today starts the ‘Wolin/Jómsborg: a meeting point of Slavs and Scandinavians’ summer school & I am getting ready to teach my module on manuscript studies (with focus on medieval palaeography). Looking forward to it!

Sooo... which manuscript is older?

🧵 Here is where my amateurs interest in palaeography comes in handy!

Look at the title where it says 'the flood of Al aqsa'. It's in a totally different color (black) than both the writing of the top part of the chart (blue) as well as the lines and borders...

Apropos of some wild developments in historical conspiracy theories of late, I’ve just made this discovery of contemporary evidence which shows, plainly, that the 1688-9 revolution was glorious. The hand really is exceptional; no palaeography needed.
