PhD candidate Asher Varon won the $25,000 first-place prize at the third annual Student Venture Showcase, hosted by Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. Varon’s winning project, ViVE, is a wearable device immediately detects an opioid overdose and administers naloxone. Congratulations, Asher!
I was very happy for AB 1841 and AB 1891 to pass their first Senate policy committee.
AB 1841 would require colleges to train and equip RAs on Naloxone. AB 1891 allows #communitycolleges to use Multi-Criteria Screening as a process of admission to Allied Health Programs.
