This 50,000 year old meteor crater in Arizona is the best preserved impact site on Earth. ☄️

Formed by an iron asteroid, the mile-wide crater offers a stunning glimpse into catastrophic cosmic collisions.

It's cold on Mars, so it's a good thing craters have cozy 'ejecta blankeys' to keep them warm. Thanks to @fegbutcher and her tweet about a typo she found in her thesis!

- circular depression, formed when the atmosphere fails and does not destroy an asteroid or meteorite when it falls to Earth. Take a look at what we managed to find by exploring the map. It makes an impression, don't you think?

Has anyone ever seen deformed Miocene wood fragments found within ejecta of an ? Here are some microscopic images at different magnifications from the Nördlinger Ries, Gundelsheim, , which I collected from the 'Bunte Trümmerbrekzie'.

Sorry if its a silly question. I found what looks like an unrecorded impact crater using Google maps. Its 5km across. I've run magnetic's and gravity. It has a central uplift, shattered geology and walled. Anyone know more about #?
