After P1b released their butterfly’s, it was nice to see they stick around to enjoy the many flowers, bushes & trees in our school playground. Our pupils love the chance to enjoy them too πŸ¦‹πŸ’– Keep Scotland Beautiful Butterfly Conservation πŸ¦‹ Jane Arthur Douglas Hutchison

New woodland, Wheeldon Copse has alder buckthorn and wildflower meadows. There were loads of brimstone butterflies out today. I finally got some shots when two males found a female and vied for her affection. What a beautiful sight!

I managed to film one of the migrated Painted Lady butterflies today and noted it was moving between its larval foodplant, Thistle.
On analysing my film later I see it laid an egg!
