We help preserve our collection by binding loose magazines and periodicals, and transferring copies of local newspapers to microfilm. #Archive30 #ConservationWin
Here's a nice #ConservationWin with this Derbyshire Police register from 1870-1903. Several of the 'mug shots' photos had been cut out and were found loose elsewhere in the collection - with a bit of detective work ourselves, we matched them with the right pages! 🤩

Written by a #PlainvilleMa resident who was at #FordsTheater the night #PresidentLincoln was assassinated.

#Archive30 #ConservationWin This portrait of Cornell Fison, who was Thetford Mayor in the 1850s, is dated to 1880. He helped build the successful fertilizer firm. The painting has been conserved, funded through a grant from the Woodmansterne Art Conservation Awards 2018/ 2019.
A recent #ConservationWin from our marvellous conservators was to turn this bundle of disintegrating rentals from 1647 into documents that can be handled and read!
