The Kinnaird Hall on Bank Street, c. 1963.

The Kinnaird Hall was a theatre and then converted into a cinema in 1919 as the owners felt they wouldn't be able to survive with the competition from the soon to be opened Caird Hall.

In 1957 two HMSO bindery staff came to the Library to repair the bindings of the 2 volumes of our copy of the Gutenberg bible. Their work was documented by some photographic slides. We're pleased to say that their work has stood the test of time:
