2023 saw a shocking 72% rise in civilian deaths in armed conflicts.

This is an indictment of our humanity.

It's time for parties to conflict to comply with their obligations and for world leaders to end the depravity of war.

My message for #PoCWeek2024 :

Despite 25 years of efforts, a stark reality remains: hundreds of thousands of civilians killed/injured across conflicts last year.

Our priorities are clear: enhance compliance with international humanitarian law and adopt a holistic approach focused on civilians.
