The massive Rose Window in the south Transept of Chartres Cathedral, with Christ enthroned in Heaven at its centre, dates back to 1224. Over 10.5 metres across (34 ft), it’s just one of more than 170 stained glass windows in the church (photo: PtrQs, Wikimedia Commons)

Bartholomeus van der Helst (1613-1670)

Portrait of a Girl in Pale Blue with an Ostrich Feather Fan, 1645.

Her name is lost to history but her dress has been exquisitely rendered, the sheer organza over the expensive lace and pearls is very fine. Just lovely.

Thomas Moran (1837-1926). American landscape painter of English origin. His artistic work was decisive for the creation of Yellowstone National Park.
'Canyon of the Yellowstone' (1893 to 1901), is an idealized view or an environment untouched by civilization in the late 19th C.
