Ambassador Jan Sadek expressed his disappointment following the decision to adopt the Anti-Homosexuality Act #AHA , which he said discriminates against a group of 🇺🇬 citizens, simply because of who they are. He appealed to Uganda to push back on prejudice and #Standup4HumanRights .

Ambassador Jan Sadek pointed out that the EU 🇪🇺remains Uganda’s 🇺🇬 leading development partner, with the official development assistance from the EU and its Member states, in a #TeamEurope format, totaling close to €1.5 billion, or close to 6 trillion UGX.

Ambassador @Sadek spoke about Uganda’s 🇺🇬positive trade balance with the EU🇪🇺, noting #EUandUganda has had a remarkable dev't on the trade side, with a huge increase in particular of Ugandan exports, now around €800m per year--a balanced trade with a slight surplus for Uganda.

Last evening, I joined the diplomatic community and friends of EU in Uganda to celebrate European Union Day. The European Union is one of Government of Uganda's strategic partners, especially in areas of support for refugees, education, infrastructure development, climate change, among others.…

We had a climax of the #EuropeDay2024 celebrations yesterday at the EU in Uganda where the ambassador Jan Sadek applauded among the many the Government of Uganda for the smooth collaboration and partnership but also warm reception team Europe has enjoyed in Uganda.

Her Excellency the Vice President of Uganda Vice President Jessica Alupo was Chief Guest at #Euday ,the event was hosted at EU Ambassador’s residence in Kololo.

Our Ambassador Jan Sadek had the pleasure to host guests at a reception celebrating #EuropeDay in Uganda 🇺🇬, a historic event marking the creation of the European Union 🇪🇺, and celebrated every May 9. The event laid the foundation for #peace , #unity & #prosperity in Europe.

The EU is the biggest market destination of Uganda coffee accounting for 65% of total exports.

We extend our appreciation to EU in Uganda for the support given to #UGCoffee & #UGCocoa value chain actors to enhance productivity & market access to the EU block.
