Only four moths here last night, but Ochreous Pug and a probable Pammene argyrana were new for the garden. A Coleophora anatipennella larval case on apple and a recent Red Twin-spot Carpet were also nice. Charles Fletcher Butterfly Conservation Yorkshire

An unexpected visitor to the moth trap last night. Caloptilia cuculipennella. A rare moth in Yorkshire. All other county records since 1880 have been from a single site in the east of VC62 at Skelton. Jill Warwick Diane Smiley Andy D. Nunn

Lots of Phyllonorycter ulicicolella mines on gorse at Ellington Banks near Ripon yesterday. This must be a very under-recorded species.

A worthy read for moth-ers across the country, I think. The latest Lancashire Moth Groip newsletter is now available to read: drive.google.com/file/d/19dNywTโ€ฆ

Phyllonorycter emberizaepenella is the first moth to emerge from (on snowberry) I collected in the autumn. Also a Pammene giganteana to a Grapholita lobarzewskii lure a couple of weeks ago. Charles Fletcher Butterfly Conservation Yorkshire

Red Sword-grass and Pale Brindled Beauty were both goodies for here last night - the RSG was new for me last autumn, and the PBB was first since 2019.

Galls of Lampronia fuscatella on young birch at Sutton Bank yesterday. The first for VC62, so it has now been recorded in all five Yorkshire VCs.
