Kingfisher Development Project is among the oil sites that are on track to produce an incredible 40,000 barrels of oil per day at its peak.

Impressively, experts manning the grilling process that goes as far as 8km below the ground are Ugandans.

I have been to International Airport, Hoima. The 3km runway is nearly complete.✅

The Airport will soon facilitate air lifting of heavy cargo + equipment to aid Oil refinery operations.

Gov’t will later open up to passenger flights.

The Central Processing Facility will process the crude oil from all the Tilenga wells by removing impurities such as gas, water and sand.

The stabilised crude will then be transported via a 24-inch 95km pipeline to the Delivery Point in Kabale.

All that is left is installation of ground lights and attendant signals to flag off Kabalega International Airport in Hoima district. That's the race to get Ugandan oil out of the ground. As it is now, you would still land heavy aircraft with no worries.

A terminal building in place for passengers and cargo. The main reason for the airport is to facilitate transfer of equipment for the budding oil and gas industry in Hoima district. The existing apron can host four of the biggest cargo planes in the world.
