NOW: Our maintenance team in Kabale is currently clearing landslides along Hamurwa—Kerere—Kanungu road—to ensure safety of road users and uninterrupted traffic flow.

These landslides in the area are mainly triggered by heavy rainfall or human activities.

ACCESS RESTORED!!! Access has been fully restored on the Kabale - Kisoro road. A mudslide at KM 52+000 near Kanaba had cut off the road after a heavy downpour. Our field team has now restored access. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.

📸 Hon. Musa Ecweru, the State Minister for Works is now at Karuma Bridge along with UNRA Engineers and officers from Uganda Police Force & UWA

The team is conducting an emergency inspection following identified signs of damage on the bridge structure and to determine mitigation measures.

⚙️ACTION:

Our maintenance team swiftly cleared the land/rock slides that had blocked the Kabale—Muhanga—Ntungamo road at Kabalaga.

Normal traffic flow has been restored! 🙏🏽

The access road at Chepsukunya is now open to traffic flow following emergency interventions.

A permanent bridge crossing is currently under construction as part of Muyembe—Nakapiripirit road project. This development will alleviate flooding in this area.
