I concluded my two days official visit to Borno state with a significant meeting with the Executive Governor of Borno State, Prof Babagana Umara Zulum. Our discussions delved into exploring lasting solutions and fostering ongoing collaboration between NCFRMI and the State.

Yesterday, I led a delegation from the NCFRMI to meet with representatives of World Bank to discuss issues concerning Refugees, Migrants and IDP’s and ways to collaborate in providing durable solutions to PoC’s.

Committed to improving solutions through data, research, and planning for those in need, Betta Edu visited the Northeast Zonal office (NCFRMI) in Borno State. Ambassador Catherine Odida, Commissioner of the Refugee Commission, graciously hosted and briefed her.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu visited Maiduguri the Borno state Capital. While in Maiduguri, the minister paid visits to IDPs at the Muna camp, NEDC, and NCFRMI Zonal office.

In response to the hunger crisis in Nigeria and with the impending arrival of holy Month of Ramadan, the HFC of the NCFRMI Hon. Tijani Aliyu Ahmed has launched a creative initiative aimed at improving food security for Persons of Concerns (POCs) in Katsina State.

Together with the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Social Events, Princess Atika Ajanah, I had an impactful meeting with Hon. Aliyu Tijani Ahmed, CEO of National Commission for Refugee, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI).

The Honourable Federal Commissioner of NCFRMI, Hon. Tijani Aliyu Ahmed highlighted that the dialogue focused on tackling migration challenges, especially where they align with the ambitions and potential of the youth.
