A good deal on a great book that's increasingly salient as SCOTUS tackles more and more big questions off its main stage.

Today’s “One First” takes a deep dive into the two pending emergency applications respecting Louisiana’s congressional redistricting—and, among other things, how they provide an opportunity to at least *look* consistent in how and when it intervenes in election cases:

Achievement unlocked:

Missing a connection because, even though *your* plane arrived on time, the airport that you’re flying out of has only one gate for your airline, and the plane *before* yours arrived late.

Wishing the happiest of 40th birthdays to KSV.

The girls don’t know how lucky they are to have her in our lives, but I sure do.

Happy birthday, Karen!! You make everyone and everything around you better and brighter; I hope only that, every so often, we return the favor.

The copyright case was argued the same day as the 'emergency' applications in the ozone pollution cases, in which we ... still haven't heard from the Court.

Second and last ruling is also not a major ruling. Kagan for a 6-3 majority on statutes of limitations for copyright cases (Gorsuch wrote for himself and Justices Thomas and Alito in dissent):

That's it for today.
