As a Trustee of the Maurice Dobson Charity it was a pleasure to join hardworking Maurice Dobson Museum volunteers inc. Ian McMillan, Ken Brookes and others as we welcomed Mayor of Barnsley Cllr Sarah Tattersall on her first visit to the small but perfectly formed Museum & Heritage Centre.

It's become a tradition for Darfield Labour councillors to commemorate Remembrance Day at the Doncaster Road family memorial. Today I joined pauline markham as she placed a wreath and we observed a two minute silence at 11.00am.

Attended the 'Growing Barnsley Workstream, Overview and Scrutiny Committee' in Barnsley Council chamber today, where we scrutinized the Berneslai Homes Annual Report. Several searching questions on tackling the challenge of antisocial behaviour by a minority of tenants.

I joined my ward colleague pauline markham in standing up for residents of Darfield and Low Valley as the Star reports more flood prevention needed as residents “terrified” of being flooded again thestar.co.uk/news/politics/…

It's fair to say the Darfield Labour Councillors made sure resident views on Low Valley & Bulling Dike were represented during the questions on the flood response. It's clear vital 'competing' organisations must communicate with each other before, during and after a flood event.

Good to meet up with Ian McMillan and pauline markham at the craft fair held at Maurice Dobson Museum. Some great examples of local artisan labour including the magnificent wood turning from local craftsman Rob Booth. The fair remains open til 4.00pm.

Delivery of community consultation continues, today in Billingley with pauline markham. Great to engage with residents as well.
