The UK is getting wetter mainly due to more intense rainfall rather than more wet days.

When it rains, it rains harder.

Ordinary weather setups produce extraordinary amounts of rain.

Climate change in action.

And it will get worse.

The increase in UK rainfall is largely due to an increase in rain intensity, i.e. the amount that falls on wet days, rather than the number of wet days increasing.

A recent study found that last winter had around 20% more rain because of climate change.

Proud to be part of the new scheme announced by Department for Education

The scheme aims to help all nurseries, schools and colleges in England have climate action plans in place by 2025. But we need volunteer experts to help make it happen.

21st June is day.

If you want to get involved then consider:

1) Projecting the stripes onto a local landmark
2) Recreate the stripes at your school
3) Use your local stripes to start climate conversations

Happy to chat about ideas.
