Failure on clean water laws means our rivers, lakes & streams could remain in a poor state for years to come👎
Key findings from The Office for Environmental Protection👇
🌊Just 21% of surface waters will be in a good ecological state by 2027
🪙More funding & monitoring needed to protect our waters
The message to political parties is clear:
1. There's no use setting grand goals for nature unless they're backed up by credible delivery plans, regulation & investment.
2. The days of turning a blind eye to environment laws & targets are over.
Well done & thanks The Office for Environmental Protection.
The The Office for Environmental Protection shows the gulf between environmental political promises & action. For 79% of rivers, Government has low or no confidence in its own plans to restore river quality by 2027.
This culture of non-compliance with environment targets must end.

Green jobs are essential to delivering on Government targets to restore nature🪴
But with a skills & diversity gap in the sector it's clear that a big boost in support is needed📈
