All these things lead to enhanced performance, but why we take Olympic rowers or top football coaches as examples eludes me - most of us are just normal, everyday people getting on with stuff.

I wish people would stop talking about performance- you are right about teams, organisational factors, but performance was never part of the origins of HFE - safety, well-being, efficiency yes, but not this stuff centred on maximising performance

One wish - stop looking for the silver bullet- don’t go down the cut/paste route - healthcare is such a different animal - develop your own ‘solutions’ and then do it locally - ‘socio-technical systems’ - it’s ancient and petty much common sense and that’s why it’s rarely done
