I was honored to participate in the outstanding BBNJ workshop for Portuguese Speaking Countries, organized by Negócios Estrangeiros PT and Oceano Azul Foundation CPLP #bbnj

Cooperation is key to achieve 60 ratifications until 2025, particularly by fostering partnerships and sharing resources between states.
So far, only 4 countries have ratified the BBNJ Treaty. With the CPLP countries stepping in, the ratification rate can crucially boost to 23%.

Organised in collaboration with Oceano Azul Foundation and Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea, the workshop brought together national and international government representatives, scholars, and policy experts.
The world must work together to make this vision a reality 🌊
