It was a pleasure to attend the European Union in the U.S.'s Transatlantic Bridge Awards last night.

This award recognizes the contributions made in politics, academics, and business to the EU-US relationship.

I participated yesterday in a powerful panel discussion on Michael King's documentary #TheRescuers , which highlights heroic diplomats like Jan Zwartendijk, who risked everything to save thousands of Jews during #WWII .

An inspiring exploration of the “mystery of goodness.”

We commemorated #RemembranceDay at the embassy Saturday. We laid wreaths for the fallen, observed 2 minutes of silence, and listened to the Brass Quintet of the US Air Force Band and children of De Nederlansde School recite a poem they wrote.

Lunch meeting with Congress members was a good opportunity to focus on US developments on the Future of Work including labor rights, workforce and education. We talked about labor migration, labor market and digitalization.

Dow Jones The Wall Street Journal Birgitta Tazelaar Later, the @nlambassadorusa and her husband Mark attended the White House Correspondents Dinner as a guest of Dow Jones & The Wall Street Journal.

One of the main purposes of the annual dinner is to fund support of journalists and scholarships for students in college journalism programs.

Also this weekend, Dow Jones and The Wall Street Journal staff joined @nlambassadorusa to discuss press freedom and the unjust detention of Evan Gershkovich in Russia.

The Netherlands is a strong advocate for the universal right of freedom of expression.

Very good news that the US House of Representatives has approved a new aid package for Ukraine. This is an important step in ensuring continued support for Ukraine as it defends itself against Russian aggression.

To date, the European Union has committed $155+ BILLION to #Ukraine , $98 BILLION of which has been spent already. Breakdown:

During these past few days we had thousands of tulips decorating the Dutch residence along with native plants and cut flowers.
The tulips were handed out by Birgitta Tazelaar at the ISHDC. Stay tuned for next edition!

I later received the Defense Attaché Spouses Association with our special guest Sharene Brown, who through Five and Thrive raises awareness for the unique challenges facing military families. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
