I really admire the exuberant re-growth of the felled London Plane Trees at Euston. Itโ€™s a perfect way for nature to say f*ck you to the gratuitous ecological destruction wrought by HS2 in the area.

Want to see all the places you SHOULD or COULD vote GREEN?

๐ŸŸข SHOULD = the Green candidate is most likely to beat the Tory

๐Ÿฉท COULD = a place a Tory unlikely to win, and the Greens have a candidate available to vote for

Why do we only protect trees when they become profitable? This tree would never have become a precious art exhibit if Banksy hadn't drawn attention to it. Street trees continue to be neglecte/pollarded to within an inch of their lives. Islington Council Haringey Labour Hermitage & Gardens #Green Guardians ๐Ÿ’š N4 / N15

are you in?
Mike Hakata Peray Ahmet Emily Arkell ๐ŸŒˆ This is where all ecologically literate councils are going...despite all those shiny industrial mowers bought for FinsburyParkLondon
Haringey Council can do better for nature. Grass best left alone for pollinators, birds etc

Climate weather chaos, a heatwave, then very cold spring playing havoc with our trees, with knock on effects for leaf canopy-fruit and food for other species. We need a system change on the way trees are managed as they fight these pressures on their life systems. Adam Cormack

Tree canopy keeps people healthy. Yet insurers continue to pressure tree depts into chopping large trees right back. It's a vicious cycle and needs a big change. Trees also will defend against flash floods so insurers need to look long term about their tactics. ABI

'Something very interesting is happening in the UK to do with nature...': terrific to see this John Harris piece abt the emergence of a 'new kind of radical landscape politics', from land access campaigns to the Rights of Rivers movement. Yes!

What in hell's teeth is this?
Let me answer, it's a metaphor for our time and the waste we lay to nature that's what it is!
Just imagine you're trying to nest/mate/ protect your eggs while a chainsaw was going off in your bedroom/house?๐Ÿคฌ

Aviation contributes to 4% of global warming despite being just 2.5% of COโ‚‚ emissions.

It's crucial we challenge the growth in flying and choose other ways to travel.

Remember, in nesting season it's illegal to work on trees with live nests. Last year we stopped men cutting an oak tree containing a crow's nest. Reported it to wildlife police who followed it up. CALL police 101 or 999 if ongoing. UK National Wildlife Crime Unit (NWCU) RSPB England Chris Packham
