Today Rwanda Forestry Authority and IUCN-Rwanda, with financial support from the #AREECAproject funded by IKI Germany, are giving cooking stoves to 1000 families in Kirehe & Nyagatare.

These stoves help local communities deal better with climate change and reduce deforestation.

RFA & IUCN-Rwanda under the auspices of the AREECA project has embarked on an endeavor to furnish 1000 households in Kirehe &Nyagatare with improved cooking stoves. This initiative is poised to fortify the communities' resilience to climate change while addressing deforestation

Rwandan beekeepers are optimistic about increasing honey production by replanting 15 bee-forage tree species.

According to #IUCN , through Green Climate Fund funded #TREPAproject , over 25,000 bee-forage trees of diverse species will be planted on at least 200 ha.
