The Global Editors Network, organisers of the Data Journalism Awards, is closing down. It looks like an issue of funding, with it stating that it was unable to 'maintain a balance between GEN’s 3 main sources of funding ... platforms, foundations & news organizations'.

Global Editors Network Very sad news. GEN was prescient about the podcasting boom, inviting Serial producer Dana Chivvis to Barcelona in 2015. I was privileged to be on that panel. I’ve evangelised #podcasting at every GEN since, to bigger, more passionate audiences each year. Loved every minute 🙏💚
