Wow! What incredible Maths learning from M today in our perimeter of a rectangle lesson!

Yesterday, our very own R lead an assembly alongside Mrs Cheung. He represented Brazil in our weekly learning about different countries, which celebrates the diversity at Phoenix!

What an honour it was to be invited to the opening of the Mandela Memorial today in Princes park. Our children were a credit to Phoenix and even made it on to the regional news. It was a great pleasure meeting Mandela’s daughter and grand daughter. 🪵🍃

Year 4 have had a great Science week learning about the spotted loach from Borneo. We have created fact file presentations, food chains, classification charts and created some lovely art work using paints and collage materials. science phoenix

Our new book is ‘James and the Giant Peach.’ Before opening the front cover and immersing into the text we discussed what we KNOW, THINK and WONDER. The children came up with great, imaginative predictions.

Year 4 really enjoyed exploring Swift Playground on the iPads. Linking with coordinates, the children had to navigate their character on a grid using commands. 🗺 Phoenix Computing

This week we’ve been learning all about the Eurovision 2023. Year 4 have designed their own Pysanka eggs from Ukraine with weaving baskets. Designed costumes, learnt the UK song by Mae Muller and created fact files about their chosen country. #Eurovision2023 🇬🇧🇺🇦🇪🇸🇵🇹🇮🇪
