Students and faculty loved listening to Dr. Carissa Harris last Thursday! Her lecture 'Sexual Consent, Vulnerability, and Pleasure in Medieval England and Scotland' had the audience gripped and led to a lively Q&A on how medieval conceptions of sexuality compare to today's.

Applications for the 2023-24 Department of English Scholarships are now open. The deadline to submit is Monday, February 6, 2023.

Her research includes analyzing sexual education, consent, and rape culture from the Canterbury Tales to the Access Hollywood tape.

One of our MFA students Stephen Kowalkowski has received a Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning Teaching Development Grant to support developing a textbook that will guide readers through the reading, writing, and analysis of short personal narratives. Way to go, Stephen!

Join us next Wednesday, October 5 at 5 p.m. in catching up with two of our Professional Writing alumni. Garrett and Adrianna have had a lot of experience since graduating, and they are a great resource for students hoping to navigate the field.
