Morning classes in Lanzarote Wilmslow High School Swim, aerobics, run and fitness

A few weeks ago a number of Year 7 and Year 8 students participated in the UKMT Junior Maths Challenges. The students worked really hard tackling some challenging and diverse problems. Congratulations to all the students who received a bronze, silver or gold certificate!

A number of our Year 13 students, and some ex- students, attended a celebration event in the gardens of Buckingham Palace for completing their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. It was a lovely way to mark a significant achievement by these young people and their guests. Well done!

The Year 10 girls finished off the season well with a victory against All Hallows in the Macclesfield & District Final, at Macclesfield Town FC. The weather conditions at times were hard to play in but the girls persevered throughout the game to keep a clean sheet and the trophy!

Well done to our U15 girls' cricket team who beat Denstone College in the second round of the National Cup competition in a low-scoring thriller!

Luke Carter (Year 11) is one of the prestigious 10 composers in this competition. His final composition is being performed and recorded as part of the Three Choirs Festival at Worcester Cathedral on 2 August. Well done, Luke!! Click here for more info: orasingers.com/meet-the-2024-…

On Wednesday, the chess team played their final match in the local friendly league against Tytherington HS in a home game. Wilmslow won 9-3, no draws. WHS ended the season 2nd in the league - a great effort.

Congratulations to our Year 12 Young Enterprise team, Cheshire Soap, who competed in the North West Final on Wednesday. After winning their heat in March and being awarded the Cheshire and Warrington Innovation Award they gave an excellent representation of themselves 👏

We had a great 3 days in the Edale/Hope Valley with 68 Year 10 Silver DofE students plus a Gold group from Year 12. Apart from a miserable Saturday morning and a sudden downpour in the evening, the weather was kind to us although there are some very muddy boots to be cleaned!

Francis House thank you for your amazing donation of 463 Creme Eggs, mini eggs and large eggs towards their Easter Appeal. They really appreciated the contribution and they have raised more than £60,000 so far! Thank you once again for taking part.
