Won’t people always speak up when children are at risk?

There’s a common, but dangerous, assumption that when children are at risk, people will “just speak up” without worrying about their own fear of embarrassment or shame if they get it wrong.

I don't expect the people running Labour to be anything less than ruthlessly factional. But the way they have behaved the last few days - the apparent desire to publicly humiliate people in particular - suggests they're going to end up destabilising themselves once in government.

Brilliant: 'If I deny his attempts at closeness...he could feel frustrated, rejected, or ashamed. If he doesn’t know how to recognize or manage those feelings, he’s likely to experience them as anger. And then I’m a solo woman stuck...with an angry man.' bikepacking.com/plog/man-or-be…

Good explanation of what you saw last night...for us this far South, we see a lot of the reddish pink because at our latitude, we see the upper altitude mostly. We in the South experienced something very unique and possibly once in a lifetime for those that were curious...

Probably the most interesting book store in Japan right now is Passage, in Tokyo's Jimbocho district. It is divided into roughly three locations, and is run as a co-op by hundreds of people. Anyone can be a co-manager by renting/leasing a shelf in one of the 123 'rue' (street),
