Won’t people always speak up when children are at risk?

There’s a common, but dangerous, assumption that when children are at risk, people will “just speak up” without worrying about their own fear of embarrassment or shame if they get it wrong.

I don't expect the people running Labour to be anything less than ruthlessly factional. But the way they have behaved the last few days - the apparent desire to publicly humiliate people in particular - suggests they're going to end up destabilising themselves once in government.
