This is a terrible outcome for health, recreation, & wellbeing, and not just an environmental catastrophe & financial outrage. The sewage scandal - or rather water companies are stealing life experiences of the nation. 🚨

Did you know it is legal to sell mammoth ivory? 🦣

This has been making it hard for customs officials to know if an ivory product is legal or not. Scientists now may have an answer.

Hey everyone! Check out the new video from Michael Granado taking a look at the Hancock/Dibble debate. I always appreciate Michael's takes, as a historian and philosopher of science, he always has great perspectives.

I’m very pleased to have been a co-author on this research paper on telling apart mammoth and elephant ivory. We hope it helps in the fight against the illegal ivory trade.

My position on violence and genetic change in 3rd Mill BC Europe is not that violence couldn't have been responsible, but that it isn't necessary to explain genetic change, and that other explanations may be equally or sometimes more plausible (esp. w/ archaeological evidence).

Seen some excitement over the location of Plato’s possible burial place in terms of digging him up and sequencing his DNA…but why?? Getting past the practicalities, what would it achieve? Are there some major outstanding questions about the life of Plato that DNA could answer?

So the Rwanda bill becomes law, with Britain an inspiration to the extreme right across Europe. Summary deportation with no right of appeal, some manacled in 21st century convict flights. If the ECHR dares to challenge, we leave that. All to reflect “ the people’s will”. Not mine

1/Let's chat about Hancock's no evidence for an ice age civilisation due to lack of spatial coverage argument. Handcock said not enough coastal regions/continental shelves have been studied by archaeologists. Maybe that's where the giant ice-age civilization buildings are?

Part of the argument that archaeologists hide evidence for an advanced ice age civ is to protect our reputations by maintaining the dogmatic status quo.

But what about archaeologists without a reputation? Why would a 24 year old archaeo hide the biggest find of the century?
