Brilliant to hear Nightingales singing back at Chippenham. After a roughly 10 year absence they seem to be attempting a recolonisation. Up to 2 birds have been singing over the last couple of days! #wiltsbirds
Spotted Flycatcher families still showing well around Castle Combe, here is one of this year’s young taken this evening! #wiltsbirds
Big migrant movement along castle Combe valleys- male Pied Fly this morning along with many Chiffchaff! #wiltsbirds

Spotted Flycatcher have successfully bred in the Castle Combe area with 2 young seen yesterday. Almost a year to the date that the last one turned up another Redstart family has popped up as well! #wiltsbirds
At least 30 Siskin’s in the garden this week, along with a few Redpoll. (Never had that many before). Firecrest along the road. 8 Wheatear on the downs in one visit. Yesterday, Siskin, Crossbill and Bramling in a local wood. It’s been a good birding week so far. #wiltsbirds
The Siskin flock is still coming into the garden every morning. It’s nice to be woken up by their calls. This is from a few weeks ago, I think I counted 22 just on the floor. More were on the feeder and in the Alder tree. (Photo taken through the Bi-folds). #wiltsbirds
Popped out to get some fresh air. Always take my camera just in case, not forgetting my bins. Lots of Goldcrest in amongst all the ivy and this little beauty appeared. #firecrest #wiltsbirds
