Turnout resumed yesterday with 7 y/o Tetford Yoda & a pair of Fishwick Prosperity 2 y/o heifers. Tetford Delightful & Dahlia. They're in the field behind the yard. This morning they'd discovered there's grass past the dock leaves at the field entrance! #tetfordlonghorns

Video was taken yesterday of 2 year old Tetford Clansman just after turn out. He has been retained to replace his father Fishwick Prosperity who we sadly lost in the winter. The picture is Prosperity taken in 2019 when 4 years old. Stunning how alike they are.

Yesterday with the help of Charlotte Charlotte North I turned 2 heifers out to run with Tetford Clansman. The one nearest in pic is Tetford Comfrey a Fishwick Prosperity daughter while the other is Tetford Daisy a Tetford Yoda daughter.

Just now at 9.15pm six y/o Tetford Zack with his group of cows & calves came up alongside our garden fence. Perfect timing before the light goes! Love the calf approaching its dad.

8 y/o Tetford Xara a Tetford Quarryman daughter o/o Tetford Querida calved a short while ago. Unassisted, up sucking when I arrived at the yard just now. Not sure but think it's a heifer, I'll check when I tag it tomorrow morning.

Yday I turned out all the cows with calves that'll run with 2 y/o Tetford Clansman. He replaces his father who we lost earlier this year. So no calves left in yard. Imagine my surprise when back after unloading last load & there's a calf! Xenia with new calf. #tetfordlonghorns

Went for a sandwich knowing that 11 y/o Tetford Up-Tempo was finding a spot to calve. Calf was up when I arrived back! She's an old hand so I'll leave them to it for a while. Who would have thought when it was chucking it down the other day that we would be having Sunday lunch in the garden today! Roast duck, potatoes, peas, stuffing and gravy made from the pan juices. Thankyou Debbie it was absolutely delicious 😋 👌😊
