WATCH: “That needs to stop. That kind of conduct needs to stop.” - Rep. Mark McBride on State Superintendent Ryan Walters’ latest media blitz on OK’s dime when asked about the specificity of the PR piece included in the OSDE spending limits bill, SB1122.

An House 'Conference Committee' just had an 80-second meeting to 'open' SB 1424 on 🐓💩 for signatures. Chairman Dell Kerbs offered a brief explanation, and now a mess of lobbyists for it and against it shall spring into action and try to pass it or kill it. Buckle up.

This bill would be very harmful for the health of livestock, the viability of farmers' crops, and the health of OK communities, especially in rural areas.

Want to be able to safely eat a fish you've caught? Tell your legislators to oppose SB 1424!

JUST IN: The Senate Education Committee has unanimously advanced the executive nomination of Nellie Sanders as Gov. Kevin Stitt’s Cabinet Secretary of Education. Her nomination now moves to the full Senate for further consideration.

SOMETHING YOU DON’T SEE EVERYDAY: The Senate just TABLED an opportunity to consider a pro-life bill. Sen. Nathan Dahm attempted to revive HB3013 (proposes to outlaw the trafficking of abortion inducing drugs in OK) but was unsuccessful, with his motion being tabled 26-13.

The is allegedly adjourning sine die Thurs, but not before one more attack on trans folks. Reach out to your House member, and let them know it is unconscionable to allow anti-trans rhetoric//move their trans erasure act, HB 1449, scheduled for the House floor tomorrow.

MORE on the proposed ban on cell phone use in Oklahoma classrooms-
What started out as incentives for districts to adopt phone-free policies has now turned into an outright ban.
The controversial measure now heads to the full senate. @okcfox

For those unfamiliar with the Conference Committee process, it's basically another way to do absolutely anything at the end of session. There are rules, but you'd struggle to find anyone who knows them.

Anyway, here are operative parts of the new SB 1424 on 🐓💩...

Today in Gen Gov, we heard a bill to allow “chaplains” in schools. The term and its duties are not defined at all. This basically allows anyone off the street into our classrooms. Video by koconews

RESTRICTING PORN- An effort in Oklahoma would follow Utah's lead, forcing websites to verify a user's age before they can access adult content. But the bill doesn't say who would enforce it or how. @okcfox

And here's Part 3 of the BS 7.0 walkout, which I had to trim to fit so the final part where I turn the camera to show my ridiculous face about all of this is eliminated.

But McCortney offers final thoughts and then Wallace rants for a bit. Enjoy. I'm out!

Gov. Stitt just vetoed the Oklahoma Survivor’s Justice Bill, SB 1470.

This bill would have allowed judges to take into consideration evidence of domestic violence while sentencing survivors for fighting back or for crimes committed during survival.

can still override.
