Yesterday, the Bucyrus Post held a #DriveToLive event at Colonel Crawford Schools. Sgt. Andrew Shellhouse spoke to students and participated in their Reality Store where students are able to learn budgeting with real life issues. He wrote 28 tickets for a variety of 'offenses'.

Last month, Sgt. Keith Smith, Marion Post, gave a #DRIVETOLIVE presentation at Ridgedale High School in Marion County. Sgt. Smith, along with the Marion County S.O., spoke to nearly 50 students about safe driving habits.

Distracted driving comes in many forms, but cell phone use has become a common distraction. It’s illegal to use or hold a cell phone or other electronic device with your hands, in your lap or with any other part of your body while driving. Remember phones down — it’s the law.

Last week, Sgt. Andrew Shellhouse and Tpr. Ryan Noblet from the Bucyrus Post participated in a Mock Crash for Upper Sandusky and Carey junior and senior classes. This mock crash shows students the potential life impact of poor decision making behind the wheel. #DriveSafe

Last week, our Fremont Post participated in the Sandusky County HS Student Job Fair. Students from surrounding schools also attended, & had the opportunity to learn about how to #JoinOSHP . Sgt. Davis and Disp. Sup. Bowling even put students to the test with a push up challenge.💪

Today is National Heatstroke Prevention Day. We urge all parents and caregivers to:

✔️ Make it a habit to look in the back seat EVERY time you exit the car.
✔️ NEVER leave a child or pet in a vehicle unattended.
✔️ ALWAYS lock the car and put the keys out of reach.
