If a patient has gout or tendon issues makes sense to use statins or PCSK9s instead of bempedoic acid. Otherwise Nexlitol or Nexlizet likely better primary prevention option.

AnnieRN Oh dear. I had trouble w/a statin I tried after Lipitor. Lipitor made me start losing my mind, thought I had dementia. Didn't take any for yrs due to side effects. Science caught up, now I take Repatha & Nexlitol, working great, no effects so far, but pricey. Good luck!
