Kasara Tunnel, Samruddhi Mahamarg

One of the longest and widest tunnels in India. This 7.78 Km long tunnel, starting near Igatpuri interchange, bypasses the entire Kasara ghat section of the Sahyadri. Tunnel falls under package 14, which is yet to be operational.

Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Expressway update.

The 25 Km Bharvir-Igatpuri section (highlighted in red) will be inaugurated on 4th March.

This will make it much more easier to join Samruddhi Expressway from Mumbai.

With this, only the last 76 Km till Amane would remain.

The beautiful 25 Km section from Bharvir to Igatpuri is now open for traffic from today!

With this, 625 kilometers out of the total 701 kilometers is now operational. The last 76 Km section will be opened later this year.

• Nagpur to Igatpuri (625 Km) - Operational
• Igatpuri to Amane (Last 76 Km) - 84% work completed and will be ready by August'24.

Recently, i drove on Kasara Ghat. the Mumbai Nashik highway ( NH 160 ) passes through hilly terrain of the Western ghats in this region. Highway bifurcates here into uphill and downhill roads and merge later near Igatpuri

The road condition was quite good!
