Leaving gifts for Y11 sorted so that they remember they love history even when they’re completely fed up with revising.

Y11 revision task - create your exam paper of doom. And then plan answers to them together as a class/in small groups. I'm pretty sure I've seen this floating around somewhere on Twitter - thank you to whoever you are for this genius idea.

West Virginia would rather their 10th graders be able to identify Civil War battles as opposed to the impact of the Emancipation Proclamation. It's not so bad. At least students are expected to identify the causes of 'succession.' Unbelievable.

So impressed with my Y8 classes and their engagement with our Industrial Revolution enquiry. So interesting to be discussing the ideas of historians like Arnold Toynbee and Emma Griffin too.

Really pleased with my 1st lesson for our new unit using the new KS3 History ‘Fight for Rights in Modern Britain’. Shows that a curriculum is never truly ‘done’. We’re on a new journey bringing exciting, different & diverse history to our kids! 🍎 🏳️‍🌈
