One of 4 smooth newts found today, hibernating underneath a discarded bit of laminate flooring. The rubbish was replaced, and I'll pick it up in the spring. Hopefully, no one else will move it!!

A birding day today on the , a massive 38 species of birds seen (massive for me. 😄) No avocet or northern water thrush, bit it was dry and I dragged myself out. ALT text for descriptions. Help needed maybe with the mystery duck!!

Still amazed by last nights nocturnal find. Who would have thought such incredible colours could be found in a muddy puddle. You could see a few had damage on them, that's because the puddle is regularly driven thru, which is both a blessing and a curse!
