Am I crazy or Blender 4.1 gltf just broke the entirety of gamedev by not exporting vertex colors by default anymore ⁉️

Nobody is actually using vertex colors for colors, it was only ever useful for passing data to shaders

Nikita Lisitsa Flying Guibou 🇷🇪 GLTF is a transmission format, ie from dcc to engine or something like that. In engine, use whatever binary formatting, which can be very simple, that makes most sense to your engine.

This sort of thing is what drives developers to keep using fbx, especially with ufbx in Godot 4.3. We need people to use an open, extensible format like gltf.

Why is the gltf addon doing things that gamedevs don't want? I also don't want my bones to be displayed as spheres.

passivestar They removed the text-only gltf in 4.0 as well, despite being super useful for small files. I think they're too disconnected from gamedev needs

ok after doing some testing I found that even though godot won't reload an updated asset from disk, if I delete a gltf model from the scene and drop it in again it DOES show the new model

so it can in fact hot reload, it just won't do it for some reason

passivestar Yes this is a very poorly thought out merge but there's already an Issue for 4.2 to add an option to force export VC which should have been there in that PR. github.com/KhronosGroup/g…

読み込めてないのか表示できてないのかの切り分けができてない
普通にgltf表示するA-frameの処理動かしてみればいいのか
