Yesterday’s occupation of UvA ended in yet another eviction. It is shocking and sad that the right to peacefully protest is not recognised in Dutch universities. Compared to other countries where End Fossil International occupied, Dutch universities disproportionately evicted their students.

To add to this, almost all occupations in The Netherlands did not disrupt any educational activities and police was still called. We were barely being disruptive. But students reaching out to other students and staying overnight in a university building was for many a red line.
