In Nov of 1971 I opened a freshly purchased copy of RS and learned of the death of Duane Allman.
In 2024 I heard it on the X. Within moments of the word of Dickey's passing, it was on my small hand-held mobile device.
In between were 53 years of rabid fandom.

was a 1973 song written & sung by the late #DICKEYBETTS with The Allman Brothers Band. It was inspired by a Hank Williams song of the same name. It was so flat-out country that the band didn’t even want to record it, but Dickey Betts prevailed! #classiccountry
