While training at #CampHale , the #10thMountainDivision pioneered critical winter warfare techniques & equipment. Carrying up to 90 lbs. of gear, soldiers skied up to 20 miles per day. They learned to snowshoe, rock climb and navigate every type of terrain.

The initial population of #CampHale included 15,000 soldiers; 3,000 admin, medical & other non-skiing staff, 5,000 mules & 200 dogs. Dogs served as messengers, pulled sleds and performed other duties.
