I’m excited to announce that I’ll be starting as an Assistant Professor in the Biomedical Engineering Dept at the University of Virginia! My lab will be studying immune-stromal interactions during fibrosis and regeneration in the context of biomaterials and lung fibrosis.

We are delighted to introduce Dr. Rita Almeida, a junior researcher at Compass group- CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials. Over the past few years, her research has focused on designing and developing natural-based biomaterials for regenerative purposes and in vitro models.

Congratulations to Yeji from Confinement Mechanobiology Lab at MBI for the best poster award at the 12th World Biomaterials Congress (WBC 2024). She is exploring the activation of fibroblasts as a function of confined migration.
