Proud to support #YoungCarersActionDay today and to have signed their Young Carers Covenant.

This year's focus is on creating Fair Futures for Young Carers.

I'm pledging to do all I can to ensure we do this at East Lothian Council - news and information in partnership with those in our communities.

Yesterday I took part in the #YoungCarersActionDay debate led by Karen Adam MSP.

In my contribution I took opportunity to celebrate incredible work of Stirling Carers. It was great to have staff & volunteers of the organisation in public gallery at @scotparl to hear the debate.

It's #YoungCarersActionDay ! This year's theme is fair futures for #youngcarers , focussing on why caring should not be a barrier to learning, earning or being able to get on in life-but for many, it is.

For #YoungCarersActionDay , we organised a celebration for our Young Carers to do the things they love. We cooked Korean food, played games and did arts and crafts.

This year's theme was fairer futures and our Young Carers also created artwork to express their thoughts.

On March 13th, Youth Councilors Alex and Matt were invited along to Doncaster’s #YoungCarersActionDay where we celebrated and listened the to the young people’s inspiring stories and remarkable contributes.
