Anyone have an Atari XEGS in the '80s? I remember it from back then but didn't own one until 2007. It may have been destined for commercial failure but it's still a nice way to play the Atari 8-bit line up. The light gun is well made; I especially like it for the game Crossbow.

It’s actually so funny to me that Atari thought there XEGS console in 1987 was way better than the NES, it clearly wasn’t since the NES sold 61.91 million units and the XEGS only sold 100,000 units lmao

This week: Desert Falcon

Originally I played this game religiously (and still own it) on the XEGS, but I always liked something about the 7800 sprites ✨

Have you played Desert Falcon?

Repost and name your fav atari 8-bit game!

Just arrived today. The arcade game of Star Trek for the mighty Atari XEGS.
Complete with the controller overlay 🥲

Absolutely psyched! If and when I start streaming as a VTuber, this will be happening 🖖👍

My Atari XEGS system works pretty well, but the power is always on and cannot be turned off with the power button. Maybe the spring on the button assembly is bad.🤷

Does anyone have experience fixing this? I love the pastel buttons and late 80s asthetics.

Quoi de mieux que cette sympathique console, l'Atari XEGS, pour inaugurer ce nouveau blog?😉

Une petite réparation/transformation, assez facile et rapide, pour commencer tout en douceur.

Channing King The XEGS, when released, was a light grey, in contrast to the 400/800 beige. Most surviving XEGS systems have morphed into a greyish beige (like the one on my desk). Check out a photo from an original box (controller included) in comparison:

On continue les mariages contre-nature sur mon moniteur monochrome Commodore, en lui branchant dessus cette fois-ci ma console Atari XEGS. Ça marche!

@PauLowRes Of all of these, I always dreamed of the Atari 1400xl or 1450xld. I would give my right arm for one... LOL. But, of these, I would have to go with the 800 or the XEGS for design. =)
