A13 organic word of mouth per the last question. Do great work and word gets around. Common mistake is to rely on marketing spend to compensate for less than stellar service.

A4 part of my branding is learning and sharing knowledge, experiences which is a through line in my content: podcasts, books and posts. Branding is a give and take proposition.

A7 test out a few and then focus into the ones that work best and are most compatible with you, your brand, and are where the people you want to connect with spend their time. Better to concentrate on a select few than spread yourself too thin on all of them.

A6 be vulnerable. When I wrote The Poshmark Guide I included a chapter on mistakes early on so others could learn and benefit. Putting aside the ego and risking a little embarrassment to help someone else do better can be a powerful teaching tool.

A10 budgets are extremely important and not just for dollars but time, resources (such as personnel) and returns. I think it’s important to do regular audits with professionals you work with eg attorneys and CPAs as well as internally.
