BUSH PIG (Ingurube y’ishyamba), Potamochoerus larvatus.
Covered in shaggy hair varying in colour, these nocturnal, omnivorous creatures are widespread in Akagera but rarely seen. They are even known to scavenge.
Have you encountered bush pigs in Akagera?

Happy ! 🐋

We came across this pod of pilot whales on our expedition to Spain back in 2011. During that two-month trip, we sighted familiar animals, like this one, but also explored seamounts and canyons, uncovering rarely seen deep-sea species! 🪸

The Texas Tortoise is a unique critter.

It feasts on prickly pear cacti and can live up to 60 years or more.

If you see one, let it be! It’s a threatened species in Texas.

A few years ago, I went up to Scotland on a photography tour where we photographed mountain hares, ptarmigan, red squirrels and red deer. Here is my monarch of the glen.

🦆Placement of wood duck nesting boxes on has provided artificial nesting areas to alleviate the loss of natural nesting habitat. Wood ducks will readily use these nesting boxes which has contributed to an increase in their population numbers.

It’s ! Here’s my best 📸 of a unique bird, the Indian (blue) peacock, with its beautiful 6-foot train on full display.

Only males have these feathers, for courtship rituals & displays of dominance.

My local zoo has free-roaming peafowl, always a joy to see ❤️
