Day 2 of the Uganda United Nations Joint Adolescent and Youth Programme (UNJAYP) orientation workshop is underway.

The purpose of the program is to tackle youth and adolescent-related issues in line with national and global development goals.

this was said during a presentation on the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) framework at the #UNJAYPUganda workshop.

At a broader level, #UNJAYPUganda recognizes the importance of involving youth in matters with potentially mid to long- term impacts on them like mitigating climate change effects,disaster resilience, environmental conservation & promoting peace and security in times of conflict.

This #UNJAYPUganda will be implemented with overall guidance from the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework steering committee composed of senior managers of Participating UN Organisations with the Ministry of Gender, Labour & Social Development as the lead Ministry.

The proposed outcomes and outputs of the #UNJAYPUganda - a collaborative endeavor involving 13 UN in Uganda agencies - builds on the previous and ongoing UN and government-supported Adolescents and Youth interventions and reflect areas where accelerated action is needed.

Some of the key activities to be conducted include;

✓Regular field monitoring visits
✓Reports from field monitoring visits, to be done jointly.
✓UN Joint team meetings to discuss implementation progress.
