Time to run! I’ve prepped for this 6-mile leg of a relay team in the Vermont City Marathon the same way I’d prep for my usual 3-mile run: running in a fasted state to reduce insulin on board which reduces my risk of hypoglycemia.

At AACE #AACE2024 I gave the lecture for the future of artificial pancreas, road map to bionic pancreas using machine learning, artificial intelligence, digital twins and neural networks in #type1diabetes and how to get the best out of current AID systems.

I'll be running a 6-mile leg this Sunday in the Vermont City Marathon. My usual run is more like 3-4 miles but I'll apply the same approach to managing my blood sugar: running in a 'fasted' state.
