John & Freda Smith were sugar boilers living in Seward’s Yard in 1939. ‘Fredy up the wagon’ was well-known to Chatteris children as the ‘Rock Queen’ & she travelled to fairs to sell her sweets

Chatteris Travellers in Time: 101 High Street
In 1953 the Electoral Register listed a group of travellers’ vans behind 101 High Street, the home of Harriet Carley, widow of Jeremiah, a traction engine owner.
